What is a targeted meet?

A targeted meet is where all Jones Swimming Club (JSC) members attend an external meet with either Jayden or John present as the coach. We compete against other swimmers from other clubs. Most importantly, it's an opportunity to swim your best in a race to determine your personal best (PB) time.

Why do we choose certain meets?

There are a handful meets throughout the year that allow swimmers to attend without qualifying times. A meet that doesn't require qualifying times to compete gives you an opportunity to register a time, so you can attend other meets throughout the year if your time is fast enough. Swimmers of all ages can participate. Many of our current members have been swimming with JSC since they were 6! This is a 'short course', meaning the swimmer must be able to swim 25m in a stroke.

Other meets are chosen specifically to prepare for State competitions.

How do I sign up?

To register for external swimming meets, you must first be an official member of the Jones Swimming Club (JSC). You can find the instructions to join HERE, and you can use your Active Kids Voucher if you wish to. Once you have joined JSC, click on the link to the meet to register for your races. Your son/daughter will be given their JSC cap which they can proudly wear on the day and thereafter. A limited number of JSC polo shirts will be available for sale.

To register for the external meets, go to www.swimcental.com.au. Click on 'Events'. Click on 'Locate an event', then search for the month. Or use the map and search for races within 30, 60 or 90 days.
